2025 Capstone project
My Capstone project was focused on creating a functional, web based platform for the faculty members of JMU CARE (Center for Advancement Research in Education). I was responsible for the user research, development of accurate personas, and creation of a functional GANTT chart and other UI aspects.

To create a fully functional and customizable Gantt chart, I first used the AI platform v0 to generate some possible code that would allow for the users to see their tasks in relation to project timelines. I then customized the HTML and CSS to match the aesthetic of our UI and to place the Gantt chart on the landing page of our site.
In the initial stages of creating user personas for the faculty of JMU CARE, I employed the use of ChatGPT and other AI models to generate realistic pain points and user needs that the staff may encounter. I further developed the personas by conducting in person interviews that focused on assessing their current frustrations, needs, and involvement with JMU CARE.

After comparing the findings from my user research with those of my artificial user, I was able to construct accurate user personas. While AI was initially helpful in finding possible pain points and needs, interviewing real faculty allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of their schedule, digital literacy, and goals for the new platform.

Application Design Examples
Below are some examples of my UX/UI work for an application design: Venture. I worked on a student team of fellow user experience and product designers at JMU to create a functional travel app prototype. Our app was designed to serve as an all-in-one destination planning, booking, and travel sharing space for iOS.
